MHT - CET 2020 for Agriculture courses.

MCAER (Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education & Research) had decided to admit the students for Agricultural courses through common entrance test MHT CET from 2018.



Here is complete guide for students going to take admission to various courses in Agriculture through Maharashtra State common entrance test for Agriculture courses.


About MHT CET 2020 -

The Government of Maharashtra has established "ADMISSIONS REGULATING  AUTHORITYAND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" which conducts online examination every year to admit students in different graduate and post graduate courses in various educational courses like business administration, Architecture, Engineering, Agriculture, Fine arts, Law etc.


MHT CET 2020 (Agriculture courses) -

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is conducting online examination from 2018 for admitting students in various agriculture courses in state Agriculture Universities. The Agriculture Education in Maharashtra is regulated by separate body, MCAER (Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research). So from 2018 every year CET is conducted for agriculture courses.


Important Dates - 

Important dates regarding MHT CET 2020 for Agriculture are as follows. Students are requested to ensure timely submission of online application and payment to be eligible for the examination.
Note down the importance dates regarding MHT CET 2020 Agriculture.

1. Online Application start - 7th Jan, 2020 (Tuesday)

2. Last Date of Online Application - 29th
Feb, 2020 (11:59 pm)

3. Online Application with additional Late Fee of Rs. 500/- for all categories - 1st March To 7th March, 2020 (11:59 pm)

4. Last Date of payment (only online mode) - 7th March, 2020 (11:59 pm)

5. Download of Admit Card - 5th April To 23rd
April, 2020

6. Date of the Examination - 13th April, 2020 To 17th April, 2020.
and
20th April, 2020 To 23rd April, 2020

Date and time for PCM and PCB group will be different so that students can appear for both exams.

6. Centre of the Examination - As indicated on admit card

7. Display of Candidate's responses - Will be notified seperately.

8. Submission of objections on Question Paper -
27 April  To 30th April, 2020

9. Declaration of Results - On or before 03/06/2020


Agriculture Courses and Eligibility offered through MHT CET 2020:

There are total 8 courses from agriculture and Allied sciences for which you can take admission through MHT CET 2020 for Agriculture courses. These courses with Eligibile groups is given as follows-

1. B. Sc. (Honours) Agriculture                                  PCMB or PCB or PCM

2. B. Sc. (Honours) Horticulture                                  PCMB or PCB or PCM

3. B. Sc. (Honours) Forestry                                          PCMB or PCB

4. B. Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)                        PCMB or PCM

5. B. Tech. (Food Technology)                 
    PCM or PCMB

6. B. Sc. (Honours) Community Science                    PCMB or PCM or PCB

7. B. Tech. (Bio-Technology)                                        PCMB or PCM or PCB

8. B. F. Sc. (Fisheries Science)
     PCMB or PCB


Eligibility Criteria for Admissions to Professional Degree Courses in Agriculture -

1. No Age Limit

2. Candidate must have passed / appearing the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination

3. Candidate must have PCM, PCB or PCMB group in HSC as per Eligibility mentioned above to get admitted in Eligibile courses in agriculture Universities.



Syllabus, Weightage and Pattern of MHT CET-2020 for Agriculture Courses:

The MHT CET 2020 for Agriculture will be conducted in two groups PCM and PCB.

  1. Syllabus- The questions will be based on Syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

  2. Weightage- From all questions, Approx. 20% from XI Class and 80% on XII Class.

  3. Pattern: MCQ type, PCM or PCB group


Scheme of Examination

1. Mode of Examination - Online , Computer Based Test
2. Duration - 180 Minutes (3 hours)
3. Total Questions - 200 for PCB group and 150 for PCM group.
4. Question Types - Multiple Choice Questions (4 options)
5. Total Marks - 200
6. Medium of test - English only
7. Negative Marking. - No Negative Marking.

Application Fees:   

1. Candidates of General category -  Rs. 800/- per group (i.e. PCM or PCB)

2. Candidate of Backward class category (SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A),
NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, SEBC and EWS and Persons with
Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) - Rs. 600/- per group

Note - 
If Candidate wish to take both exams i.e. PCM and PCB group exam then he/she need to pay the fee mentioned above for each group seperately.



Duration of the test for MHT CET AGRICULTURE 2020 -

A. For PCM -
This paper is having 2 Groups of Physics-Chemistry and Mathematics with total 180
Minutes Duration, first 90 minutes Physics and chemistry will be enabled and only after completion of first 90 minutes’ time Physics-Chemistry group will be auto submitted and Mathematics group will be enabled with 90 minutes’ duration.

B. For PCB -
This paper is having 2 Groups of Physics-Chemistry and Biology with total 180 Minutes
Duration,
First 90 minutes Physics and chemistry will be enabled and only after completion of time
response for Physics-Chemistry group will be auto submitted and Biology group will be enabled with 90 minutes’ duration.

As mentioned above, for MHT CET 2020 Agriculture, the questions will be from both 11th and 12th class with 20% and 80% weightage respectively. The detail syllabus for the Agriculture CET will be as follows -
